ECO 271: Theories of Human Resources



The course introduces students to the significance of labour as a factor of production. Theories of labour market; human capital theory, screening/filter theory, dualistic theories. Labour market imbalances: unemployment and underemployment. The development and management of human resources; strategies for development, investment in human capital, forecasting manpower requirements, manpower utilization and theory of incentives. Education, employment and work; their interactions.
